EDGE: TNB declared an interim dividend of 30 sen per share amounting to RM1.71 billion, to be paid at a date to be announced. For the six months ended June 30, TNB’s net profit fell to RM2.67 billion from RM3.36 billion. However, revenue for the period was higher at RM26.12 billion versus RM24.77 billion a year earlier. Yes. One way that stockholders get returns on their investment is through a dividend payment.

EDGE: IHH Healthcare Bhd’s net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019 (2QFY19) rose 12% to RM184.99 million compared with RM165.11 million a year ago, as the group continues to book in contributions from two new acquisitions that were completed in the final quarter of last year. That’s wonderful news!

EDGE: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2019 jumped 86% year-on-year to RM160.08 million from RM86.12 million as revenue rose to RM1.26 billion from RM1.15 billion previously. MAHB declared an interim dividend of 5 sen, payable on Oct 1. That’s good news for shareholders.

EDGE: Supermax Corp Bhd’s net profit jumped 59% to RM15.06 million for the fourth financial quarter ended June 30, 2019 (4QFY19) from RM9.47 million a year ago, on higher revenue from global sales of its natural rubber and nitrile rubber gloves. The profits were very high.

HLIB: KLCI outlook: Despite another round of tariffs was implemented over the weekend, buying interest were noticed on most of the global stock markets and we believe it may spill over towards stocks on the local bourse, lifting the KLCI eventually in the near term. Next resistance will be set along 1,620-1,640. Traders may take the opportunity to lookout for bottoming out stocks for accumulation phase as the KLCI has formed a firm base around 1,580-1,600.
